Cultural Activities
During the last week of each term, all of our students celebrate diversity by taking part in a significant Japanese cultural festival or event. Cultural celebrations foster respect and open-mindedness. Celebrating these events helps our students to understand how language is emebeded in social interactions.
Throughout the years our students have celebrated a variety of Japanese cultural events including; Tanabata, Calligraphy, Taiko, Japanese Sporting events, Girls Day, Boys Day and New Year activities.
Sister School in Japan
Our school has begun to build a sister school relationship with Shiwasuda Elementary School in Japan. Relationships like these increase motivation and enthusiasm to learn a language and also foster real world connections.
- Year 3 - Letter writing

School Student Tours - Japan
A
study tour enhances students’ learning by providing opportunities for students
to participate in curriculum-related activities outside the normal school
routine. All students at Wellers Hill have the opportunity to participate in school tours to Japan. Information regarding school tours will be provided to parents via our digital newsletter.
Our school tours have been postponed until further notice. Our School tours will resume as soon as we are able to take students internationally.
More Information about tour nformation can be found by clicking on the Japan Study Tour link on the side of the page.
