Developing productive partnerships between the home and the school is vital in achieving the best possible educational opportunities for your child. A productive partnership is enhanced through good communication and mutual support.
Parent Information Evenings
Parent Information Evenings are held early in term 1. Parents are invited to meet their child's teacher and learn how the class operates, including classroom expectations, homework, routines and procedures.
Student Progress Meetings
A system of continuous assessment is used to monitor each child’s progress. Written reports are issued at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2. Student Progress Meetings will be conducted in term 1 and term 3. Parents will be sent home information regarding booking with School Interviews.
Report Cards
Report cards are issued to parents at the end of each Semester. Students are reported on against the relevant achievement standards for each learning area of the
Australian Curriculum.
A level of achievement is awarded on a five-point scale, A to E or equivalent, depending on the year level.
Parents may request in writing information about their child's performance relative to that of other students in their cohort.
Students on a highly individualised curriculum are assessed and reported against the learning expectation identified in their Individual Curriculum Plan (ICP).
Communication with Teachers
Teachers are available throughout the year for informal meetings but these are to be arranged at times that are suitable to all parties. Please contact your class teacher to arrange a convenient time. Please refer to our communication policy around teacher and parent communication for more information.
Curriculum Expo Days
At the end of each term we parents are invited to visit classrooms for Curriculum Expo Day. This is a time where parents can book in and can witness the incredible learning that happens everyday within our classrooms. More information regarding Curriculum Expo Days is sent to parents closer to the date.
