Nestled in the beautiful, leafy suburb of Tarragindi, Wellers Hill State School is often described by visitors and families as an oasis in the heart of Brisbane. Since opening our doors in 1926, we have built a proud tradition of academic achievement, strong community connections and a values-based culture. These foundations continue to guide us as we prepare students to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Wellers Hill has a long-standing reputation for educational excellence. From our highly regarded bilingual program to outstanding opportunities in the arts, sport and student leadership, every child is encouraged to discover their strengths, pursue their passions, and develop the knowledge, skills and character needed for the future.
A distinctive feature of our school is our Japanese Bilingual Program, which is unique within Queensland. Students have the opportunity to learn through one of two pathways:
- Australian Curriculum (English)
- Australian Curriculum (Japanese)
With the exception of Prep, each year level includes multiple classes in both pathways. This innovative program not only develops bilingual proficiency but also fosters intercultural understanding and global citizenship, essential skills for an increasingly connected world.
